Chris Denby is Executive Vice President of The Advisory Board Company, a leading, publicly traded healthcare and higher education research and technology company.  He is responsible for the company’s client relationships across all its businesses. Over the course of his 18 years at the Advisory Board, Mr. Denby was also the General Manager of its research division, overseeing best practice research on issues ranging from healthcare strategy and nursing to philanthropy and leadership.

Prior to joining the Advisory Board, Mr. Denby was a strategy consultant for seven years with McKinsey & Company, both in Europe and in the United States. In that capacity, he led numerous projects for senior management teams of corporations in a variety of industries including health care, financial institutions, consumer goods and energy.

Mr. Denby is deeply involved in and passionate about music and the arts.  Among many other organizations he supports, he is Chairman of the Board of The Washington Chorus as well as the chair of the board of PostClassical Ensemble, an innovative classical music orchestra based in Washington, DC.  He is also on the board of St. Albans School for Boys where he leads their global education efforts. 

Mr. Denby was born in Brussels, Belgium and grew up in France and Italy.  He holds a MBA from INSEAD (Institute of European and Administrative Studies) in France, a master’s degree in international relations from The Johns Hopkins University, and a bachelor’s degree in history and economics from The George Washington University.  He is married and has three boys, including a sophomore at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland, and a senior and 7th grader at St. Albans School for Boys.  Mr. Denby and his family are avid skiers, hikers, and lovers of the mountains – they have a house in Aspen, Colorado, which they enjoy as often as possible.
