Halcyon Arts Lab Workshop: Micro-Filmmaking for Everyone
Saturdays | Starts February 24, 2018 | 11am-2pm
Ever wonder how you can take your social media videos to the next level? It turns out you probably already have most of the tools you need to be a filmmaker! This three-part workshop will guide you through the basics of smartphone-based video production and help you produce your very own micro-film (a one to two minute documentary or creative video piece) at the end of the series. The series will focus on the fundamentals of capturing video and audio with your smartphone, story structure basics and editing your micro-film using an app right on your phone. No filmmaking experience necessary, but it we recommend that you do have a knowledge of the basic operations of your phone’s video capture function.
Required equipment: iPhone or Android smartphone capable of downloading a free Adobe Premiere Clip app. Make sure your phone has ample memory space and battery power to start practicing your skills in our first session!
Optional equipment: Selfie stick, miniature tripod or other smartphone stabilizing tool(s) and other smartphone accessories you may want to work with (microphone, external lenses, etc.)
