Megan Merchant is an advocate for equity in the arts and strives to provide accessible programming for intergenerational audiences. As Program Coordinator, she coordinates the Halcyon Stage performance series by managing the flow and logistics for performances and special events to ensure a high quality patron experience. She also assists the Halcyon Arts Lab Program Director in the programmatic execution of the Halcyon Arts Lab Fellowship, and the development of an active community engagement program for the Halcyon Stage and Halcyon Arts Lab.

Prior to joining Halcyon, Megan was the Education and Community Programs Manager for Washington Performing Arts, a presenting organization that creates profound opportunities to connect community and artists in the D.C. Metropolitan area. As program manager, Megan oversaw music competitions, master classes, community performances, social engagements, in-school partnership programs, summer camps, and an annual Family Arts Fair.

In addition to her work at Halcyon, Megan serves as a committee member for the Arts Administrators of Color DMV Network helping to provide equity and inclusion in the arts for arts managers and artists in the Washington, D.C. area. Megan has a B.A. in Dance from the University of Maryland and an M.A. in Arts Management from George Mason University.
