Reilly Dowd is a Halcyon Fellow from the 2016 Studios Program. Her work, ‘The Language of Laughter’ with a focus on the Syrian refugee crisis, was included in the Ward 12 Exhibition at Halcyon House in December 2016.

Reilly Dowd has spent the last year directing and producing her first feature documentary film.  Currently entitled “The Language of Laughter,” her film is set in Jordan’s Zaatari Refugee Camp, located just a few miles form the Syrian border.  Having visited more than fifty countries on four continents, exploration has fostered her passion for culture and storytelling.  Reilly graduated from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service where she studied international politics and investigative journalism.  During her time in Washington D.C., Reilly has worked at CNN, ABC News, SnagFilms, The Fiscal Times as well as for former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the Obama White House.
