Jacob Maina is a Kenyan computer scientist with over a decade of expertise in machine learning, computer vision, and AI-driven solutions. Born and raised in Kenya, Jacob has a passion for leveraging technology to solve pressing challenges in agriculture. He holds a degree in Technology Project Planning and Management from Moi University and an MBA in Global Business and Sustainability Social Entrepreneurship from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Italy. Currently pursuing a second Master of Science in Information Systems and Technology at United States International University-Africa, Jacob is also a certified AI engineer recognized among Africa’s Brightest Young Minds. As the Co-Founder of Cropscan, Jacob has developed pioneering handheld devices that empower small-scale farmers with real-time crop diagnostics and sustainable solutions, significantly reducing fertilizer costs and improving yields. His work reflects a commitment to advancing food security among African communities.
