Ashley M. Freeby is a multidisciplinary artist who was born in rural Pennsylvania (b. 1986) and currently lives in Chicago, IL. She earned a MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (2018) and a BA from Bucknell University (2015). Recent solo and dual exhibitions: Hyde Park Art Center, Chicago (2019), Chicago Artist Coalition (2019), The Annex @ Spudnik Press, Chicago (2019), and Kanzlei, Berlin, Germany (2018). In addition, she has participated in numerous group exhibitions, including exhibitions with Hyde Park Art Center (Chicago), Arts of Life Open Gallery (Chicago), Xpace (Toronto), the Mayor’s Office at Chicago City Hall, EXPO Chicago, Sullivan Galleries (Chicago), and Samek Art Museum (Pennsylvania). She has participated in residencies at Vermont Studio Center, HATCH Projects - Chicago Artists Coalition, Hyde Park Art Center, and the Institut für Alles Mögliche in Berlin Germany. She was recently awarded the SPARK Microgrant from Chicago Artist Coalition.
