Brian Toll is Founder of ecobeco, a residential energy efficiency home improvement company, which was sold in mid-2018. As Founder and President, Mr. Toll was responsible for all elements of the business operations, strategy, marketing, human resources and accounting. Mr. Toll selected and managed all vendors including branding, website, on-line advertising, and e-commerce. Mr. Toll built ecobeco’s customer relationship management database, set up financial systems, automation tools, computer networks, telephony, company infrastructure, and managed real estate. In its first 10 years, ecobeco served over 100,000 households, and grew to 45 people at its peak. Mr. Toll represented the industry as Chairman of the Board of the Maryland Building Performance Association where he regularly testified to the Maryland Public Service Commission, legislators in Annapolis, and worked in collaboration with government, utility, environmental, and social-justice stakeholders. Mr. Toll’s interest in the health impacts of residential buildings led to the creation of the HEALTH-R trial that tested advanced building technologies in the homes of asthmatic children. Mr. Toll produced and moderated the Breathe Easy Home Podcast that was created to support the trial. Mr. Toll continues to consult for Minnick’s ecobeco.
Prior to ecobeco, Mr. Toll was Director of Marketing at Sprint Nextel focusing on wireless pricing and new product development. Mr. Toll also spent time at UBS as an equities analyst focused on the telecommunications industry. Mr. Toll also performed management consulting services with KPMG (now Bearingpoint) and American Management Systems (now CGI).
Mr. Toll obtained his undergraduate degree in economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and his MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Business.
