Why Intern at Halcyon

Get firsthand communications experience working with impact entrepreneurs at Halcyon! As Halcyon’s Summer 2025 Communications Intern, you’ll engage with startup and ecosystem leaders in Health, Climate, and EquityTech, where you’ll capture creative content and tell meaningful stories that will be shared to influential audiences worldwide. This unique position offers the chance to contribute innovative ideas, collaborate on high-impact projects, and have your voice heard in a dynamic, mission-driven environment where your work directly influences transformative global initiatives.

Position Summary

  • Support Halcyon’s communications department, with a focus on writing, social media and content creation, and email communications.
  • Coordinate with all programs and departments, helping to refine key messages and tell the story of Halcyon and its fellows to key audiences including media, stakeholders, and supporters.
  • This is a full time, in-person role that will run from early June through late August.
  • This is a hybrid position with the option to work remotely up to two days per week.

Experience Required/Preferred

  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Outlook, etc.
  • Is currently pursuing a degree in a related field
  • Thrive on working in a fast-paced, dynamic, start-up environment.
  • Strong copywriting ability preferred, including the ability to adapt to/capture different voices.
  • Basic graphic design abilities – experience with Canva or related platforms preferred.
  • Basic video creation and editing abilities preferred.

Special Considerations:

• You must be able to receive college credit for your internship experience to be eligible.
• Willingness to work occasional evenings to assist with programs and events.

  • Emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills, including the ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds to engender trust.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and independently to achieve common objectives.
  • Reliable work ethic to complete tasks and pitch in where needed.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written skills including grammar and punctuation.
  • Proven ability to communicate articulately and creatively including identifying and recommending solutions to problems.
