Community Engagement + Research Internship
(Summer 2025)

Halcyon is offering an exciting internship opportunity for academic credit, providing undergraduate and graduate students with valuable hands-on experience that complements their academic development. Candidates must be able to receive college credit for their internship experience to be eligible.

Why Intern at Halcyon

Through this internship, you will gain hands-on experience in project management, program design, and ecosystem building while helping to co-design workshops and panels that support impact-driven entrepreneurship in the DMV region. You’ll also gain valuable research skills and learn about various impact measurement methodologies for Halcyon’s key sectors areas: Climate, Health, and EquityTech.

Position Summary

  • Assist Halcyon’s Sourcing, Selections, & Alumni department in designing short-term programming focused on impact-driven startups. This includes defining goals, designing workshops and panels, and managing all aspects of the project.
  • Conduct research and compile insights on best practices and methodologies for impact measurement in the Climate, Health, and EquityTech sectors.
  • Collaborate with the team to develop a structured knowledge management system for impact measurement tools and methodologies.
  • Provide ad-hoc support across sourcing, selections, and alumni engagement initiatives as needed.
  • This is a full time, in-person role that will run from early June through late August.
  • This is a hybrid position with the option to work remotely up to two days per week.

Experience Required/Preferred

  • • Experience with Microsoft Office, Outlook, etc.
  • Is currently pursuing a degree in any field.
  • Thrives working in a fast-paced, dynamic, start-up environment.
  • Passion for impact-driven entrepreneurship.
  • Interested in research and impact measurement methodologies.
  • Highly organized and analytical.

Special Considerations:

• You must be able to receive college credit for your internship experience to be eligible.
• Willingness to work occasional evenings to assist with programs and events.

  • Reliable work ethic to complete tasks and pitch in where needed.

  • Excellent written skills including grammar and punctuation.
  • Proven ability to communicate articulately and creatively including identifying and recommending solutions to problems.
