Development Internship
(Summer 2025)

Halcyon is offering an exciting internship opportunity for academic credit, providing undergraduate and graduate students with valuable hands-on experience that complements their academic development. Candidates must be able to receive college credit for their internship experience to be eligible.

Why Intern at Halcyon

As a Development Intern, you’ll work closely with our Development and Strategy Manager and will play a role in supporting Halcyon’s development operations, database maintenance, and fundraising efforts. From managing multiple projects to collaborating with our team, you’ll help us amplify our impact to shape the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Through this role, you’ll gain experience strategically analyzing partnerships to determine fit, structuring data for improved organizational tracking, and analyzing data and providing visuals with the opportunity of findings being shared with Halcyon’s leadership and/or board.

Position Summary

  • Support the day-to-day operations of Halcyon’s Development department, including processing donations and managing data input into the EveryAction CRM platform.
  • Assist with writing tasks, including conducting background research, data analysis, drafting proposals, and creating fundraising materials to support ongoing fundraising campaigns.
  • Identify potential supporters and partners through prospect research, aligning funding priorities with Halcyon programming.
  • Serve as a brand ambassador, communicating respectfully with key stakeholders, attending events for professional growth, and networking within the Halcyon community to understand stakeholder engagement motivations.
  • This is a full time, in-person role that will run from early June through late August.
  • This is a hybrid position with the option to work remotely up to two days per week.

Experience Required/Preferred

  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Outlook, etc.
  • Is currently pursuing a degree in a related field
  • Passion for finding innovative solutions with the ability to articulate ideas creatively.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work effectively under pressure.
  • High accuracy, attention to detail, and excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Capable of collaborating effectively in team settings and autonomously accomplishing shared goals.
  • Comfortable engaging with diverse stakeholders (donors, sponsors, colleagues, and the press) and adept at problem-solving to recommend effective solutions.
  • Ability to work with multiple deadlines, while adapting to changing circumstances and pitching in where needed.
  • Thrive on working in a fast-paced, dynamic, start-up environment and be able to maintain a good sense of humor.
  • Willingness and ability to work occasional evenings to meet program requirements.
  • Fundraising experience preferred but not necessary.
