A two-day workshop focusing on the construction and deconstruction of Word Pinatas. Through group exercises, participants will identify common threads of tension in their lives and society, collectively selecting a word or phrase to represent those frustrations.
In this workshop, participants will be guided through a series of specific vocal and movement activities designed to build comfort in self-expression and to "speak your truth to power" through sound and movement. The workshop will culminate in a weaving together of participants' ideas to create a short vocal composition and choreography around the theme of "truth to power".

Create a wrap doll using sticks wrapped with cloth and "dressed" in layers of fabric that will act as a talisman of self-compassion. Led by instructor Erika Cleveland, participants will start the workshop with a guided meditation and journaling to help lead into the intuitive process of making.
