Fonta Gilliam, CEO and Founder, launched Invest Sou Sou after working for over ten years as an American Diplomat for the U.S. Government in East Asia and Africa and a Management Consultant for Deloitte’s Emerging Markets Practice. During that time, Ms. Gilliam managed multi-million-dollar foreign assistance programs to support innovative finance, private investment gender programming in Africa.

Fonta launched the U.S. Government’s first women’s business centers in Africa. Several of the policies and programs under her direct leadership have been acknowledged by President Obama, G8 Deauville Summit Leaders and cabinet level officials. Ms. Gilliam received her bachelor’s degree in Political Sciences and Economics from Howard University and her master’s degree in International Development from American University.
