Noemi Florea

Noemi Florea is a visionary entrepreneur and the driving force behind LÆRO, a dynamic multidisciplinary design studio. LÆRO is dedicated to creating innovative product-service systems that directly address the challenges identified by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Since 2020, Noemi has been at the helm of the development of Cycleau, a groundbreaking compact greywater treatment system. This revolutionary solution is specifically designed to enhance access to clean urban water resources. Cycleau represents a significant advancement in addressing the infrastructural obstacles related to clean drinking water and public waterways across the United States. Through its innovative applications, it provides a dual solution to these pressing challenges. Noemi’s leadership and expertise have played a pivotal role in bringing Cycleau to fruition. Moreover, Noemi’s work exemplifies the potential of participatory design practices within the environmental justice movement. By collaborating with various nonprofit organizations and social enterprises in eight different countries, she has successfully developed technology-driven solutions to tackle systemic challenges at the local level. Noemi’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Integrated Design and Sustainable Cities from Parsons School of Design, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies from The New School in New York City, New York.
