Cultural thinker and general rabble-rouser Camille Paglia discusses her new book, Free Women, Free Men: Sex, Gender, Feminism, a brilliant collection of essays that celebrates and challenges modern feminism—from motherhood to Madonna, football to Friedan, stilettos to Steinem.

With her 1990 Sexual Personae, Paglia burst into several scenes at once. As an edgy cultural critic, provocative feminist, and established academic, Paglia is the University Professor of Humanities and Media Studies at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, and a regular contributor to Salon.com.  Amounting to a retrospective of Paglia’s career, this collection includes some of her most insightful and well-argued essays. Whether covering literature, film, music, or the visual arts, considering the nature of fame, football, or the goals of NOW, Paglia draws from a breathtaking range of cultural reference points.

The Halcyon Stage Book Party with Politics & Prose series invites celebrated authors to discuss their work in an intimate social setting.
