Janae Williams (juh weems) is a fat black genderqueer circus of a human being born and raised in the Black Baptist church pews of Virginia. janae is a dreamer, doer and diviner deeply committed to the transformative and contagious power of being whole. In the ancient legacy of black femmehood, janae does everything: she is a photographer, digital visual artist and dj. She is the creative co-director and lead organizer of the DC-based, Black Femme Brunch, a community which cultivates radical, irreverent and unapologetic celebration of black trans and queer femmes of all (or no) genders. But most importantly, she is making intentional time to celebrate that everyday, something has tried to kill her (and those that she loves) and has failed.
