Jeff Weiss co-founded Distributed Sun in 2009 and is Executive Chairman. Distributed Sun is a leading U.S. project developer and operator. DSUN is the largest US Community Solar developer, and has built community, commercial, industrial, and utility scale projects in eleven states. Jeff leads capital formation, business development and relationships, strategy and governance.
An early digital media and commerce entrepreneur, Jeff led companies in renewable energy, cyber and physical security, intelligence and corporate fraud mitigation, mission preparedness and training, software development, and transformational management. Companies include Picture Network International (sold to Kodak in 1997), CDx (Certificate of Deposit Exchange), Vista ($100MM network services firm), TSG ($10MM strategic intelligence firm), Verisign, ASAP Ventures (strategy, advisory & angel investing), AVM Financial Group (investment banking) and Strategic Planning Associates.
Jeff graduated from Cornell University and The Wharton School (University of Pa). He sits on the Leadership Council of American Council for Renewable Energy; is Washington Leadership Chairman of Business Executives for National Security (BENS); is Trustee Council member of Cornell University; serves on the Executive Committee of Washington Hebrew Congregation; is past Co-Chair of the Aspen Institute's Socrates Society, is past Board member of the Atkinson Center for Sustainability, is founding Co-Chairman of the Solar Energy Finance Advisory Council of SEIA, and founding director of Shenandoah National Park Trust.
