A liaison officer of Kyoto University in Japan, Jun Shimazaki serves as an intern for the Halcyon Incubator, supporting both daily program needs and large events.
Prior to joining Halcyon, Jun served as an administrative officer at Kyoto University Hospital, where he coordinated fire and disaster prevention/coping plans and collaborated with doctors and nurses from the hospital’s emergency department to arrange the Disaster Medical Assistance Team (DMAT). When he was younger, Jun served as a volunteer fire fighter in Kyoto city.
Jun holds a master’s degree in Human and Environmental Studies (Foreign Language Acquisition and Education) from Kyoto University and a Bachelor of Arts (European and American Linguistic Cultures) from Kyoto Prefectural University.
In his free time, he likes to go sightseeing, watch movies, and read books. He is also an avid opera and classical music lover. Jun is always on the lookout for authentic Japanese cuisine in the D.C. area.
