Laura Bailey, Senior Vice President of Community Finance & Community Affairs, leads Capital One’s loans, investments, philanthropy and volunteer support for communities.
The Community Affairs team provides support for causes as diverse as job creation in the digital economy and tools for improving education. To support this work, the team leverages experts from around Capital One, as well as the support of corporate and foundation giving.
Community Finance is an integrated provider of all forms of capital needed for development of affordable housing: construction loans, term financing, equity investments, and social service grants. The team provides over $1.5 billion in capital each year to increase the affordable housing options across the country.
Before joining Capital One, Laura’s experience included serving as Regional Executive, Community Development Banking at Bank of America, as Vice President, Corporate Banking at JPMorgan Chase, and Vice President, Community Development Banking, JPMorgan Chase.
Laura serves on the board of AHIC, the national organization for investors in low-income housing. She is a member of the Urban Land Institute’s Affordable Housing Council. In the Washington area, Laura serves on the board of CPDC, a regional developer of affordable housing.
Ms. Bailey earned concurrent degrees in Finance from the Wharton School and in International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania.
She lives in Reston, Virginia with her son.
