By The People Festival Intern

Halcyon is seeking a motivated, self-starting creative individual with an eye for detail, superb organizational skills, and good sense of humor for an internship with By The People, Halcyon’s international arts and dialogue Festival. The ideal candidate will have an interest in arts management or equivalent and be available 2-3 days per week during normal working hours (between 9am-5pm) and possible evening hours throughout the Festival. The Festival Intern will report to the Project Manager while supporting the Festival team. A stipend is available for those students who do not receive outside funding and/or course credit.

The Arts Festival Intern will support the Project Manager by assisting in:

  • Organizing information for 75+ artists, performers, and curators
  • Researching and identifying potential satellite partners for collaboration
  • Communication with, and management of, Festival satellite partner relationships
  • Attending site visits and meetings with partners and artists
  • Providing on-site support during the Festival, de-installation and clean-up
  • Execution of arts installations and exhibition space development
  • Artist Open Call outreach and management
  • Streamlining Festival guest engagement and outreach measures
  • Performing arts-related administrative tasks as needed

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Web editing and Adobe software experience a plus
  • Previous experience working in arts or arts related field
  • Arts exhibition experience a plus
